"Reconciling takes way less effort now"
I used to kind of dread doing reconciliations, especially at the end of the week when my brain is already done and I’m usually trying to finish everything before making dinner. This has made the whole process so much easier and less frustrating. It’s quicker, cleaner, and I’m not double-checking the same things over and over like I used to

I moved all our old accounts data into Xero my first reaction was, “Oh, that’s it?” It went smoothly overall. A few fields needed tidying up, but the import itself was simple enough and saved me a ton of messing about.

"Works well enough for my small business"
I mostly use Xero on my phone, it’s been handy for sending invoices and keeping an eye on payments. The layout is simple enough that I don’t have to think too hard about where things are. It does lag sometimes or take a bit to load, which gets annoying when I’m in a rush, but overall it’s made running the admin side of my small business a lot easier.

It just loads really fast, which I appreciate right away. I don’t have to sit there waiting or wondering if it’s stuck, and then I can just get on with what I was doing. Also, even when I’m moving between things, it doesn’t feel like it drags or slows me down, which is kind of the main thing for me

We mostly use xero for payroll, it’s been fairly reliable. Setting up pay runs is simple enough, payslips usually go out without drama, and having leave balances all in one place is genuinely useful. That said, some of the settings feel like they’ve been tucked away just to keep things interesting, and fixing a tiny mistake in a pay run can somehow turn into way more clicks than it needs to be. The help articles are fine, I guess, although “help” is doing a bit of heavy lifting sometimes. Overall, it does save us time every month, which is the main thing. It’s not perfect, but it’s dependable enough. I’d give it 4 stars.

"Bank rules and invoices mostly handle themselves"
Once I set up the bank rules and invoicing, most of it just runs on its own, which is exactly what I needed. I still check in here and there, just to make sure everything looks right, but it’s saved me a lot of time and hassle.

I’ve been using Xero to keep track of stock for my small shop, it has made things a lot less messy. Adding items is straightforward, and I really like that the stock updates when invoices go out, so I’m not constantly checking spreadsheets anymore. It’s not perfect if you need really detailed inventory features, but for what I need, it mostly does the job. That said, there have been a few times where I felt a bit ignored when I needed help or clearer answers, which is frustrating when you’re trying to keep things running smoothly...

I connected my bank, Stripe, and payroll app without a bunch of hassle, which was a relief. It saves me from bouncing between tabs all day just to keep up with basic stuff. I did run into one sync issue, but the support article walked me through it and fixed it. Fair to say it does what it’s supposed to, and that’s all I really ask

I deal with different currencies pretty much every day, and Xero handles it really smoothly. It saves me a ton of time, which is great because doing it manually used to be such a headache. I mean, it’s not exactly thrilling software or anything, but it does the job well and makes my day a lot less annoying.

I’m particular about who can see what in our accounts, and Xero makes that really easy to manage. I can give staff access to just the areas they need, and if someone’s role changes, updating their permissions only takes a minute. It gives me peace of mind knowing people aren’t seeing things they shouldn’t

I just got started with Xero the setup was smooth. The onboarding steps actually made sense, so I never really felt lost. Connecting my bank took a bit longer than I expected, which was kind of ridiculous, but overall I’m really happy with it so far.

"Helpful dashboards, but the reports could use more flexibility"
The dashboards are genuinely useful and easy to glance at, especially when I just want a quick read on what’s going on. I do notice little things though, like wanting to tweak a column here or filter one oddly specific date range there, and that’s where the reports start to feel a bit limited. It works fine overall, but I kept wishing I had just a little more control over the smaller details.

"Seems worth it for what I use it for"
I’m not totally sure if I’m using every feature in Xero the way I should, but for what I need, it feels like decent value. It’s definitely not the cheapest subscription I have, but it saves me a good bit of time with invoices and bank-related stuff, so I don’t really mind paying for it each month. So far I haven’t run into any surprise fees either, which is probably one of the things I appreciate most...

i mean, the login alerts and backups make me feel a lot safer using it. It’s nice knowing I’ll get a heads-up if something seems off.

xero has really helped keep my VAT and reports organized, so filing doesn’t feel nearly as stressful as it used to. I did run into a few small issues here and there, but overall it’s been easy to use.

I’ve been using Xero for my quotes and invoices, and it’s been straightforward. Sending things out and keeping track of what’s been paid is simple, which means I’m not spending ages chasing paperwork when I could be getting on with the actual work.
